Summary

​

The Data Architect role will play an integral part of building out modern data strategies and developing technical solutions working closely with the business to understand requirements. You will work primarily with the Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse,  and Power BI) to help build a modern platform for data that will be sourced from a variety of applications from on premises and cloud-based applications. As a Data Architect, you will serve as the technology expert and define the end use of the solution, and lead developing, testing, and maintaining of the solution.

 

Responsibilities

• Help customers envision and define their data strategy based on proven architectures on the Microsoft platform to enable business intelligence, advanced analytics, and AI and machine learning.

• Understand the customer's overall data estate, their IT and business priorities, and key measures of success to design cloud-based data architectures using your deep, technical knowledge.

• Guide business and technical decision makers on creating business value on top of the Azure platform through Architect Design Sessions, Workshops, and Rapid Prototyping.

• Design architectures for customers incorporating data services such as SQL Server on Azure, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, IoT Hub, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, etc.

• Apply deep technical knowledge and customer insights to create modern data architectures that provides increased agility in meeting the demands of the customer’s business.

• Design and develop data warehouse database schemas and advanced analytical models. 

• Design and develop (ETL/ELT) pipelines, dataflows, mappings, procedures, and pipeline orchestration.

 

Requirements

​

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management/Computer Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 5+ years of experience in architecting, developing, customizing, tuning, troubleshooting, implementing, or supporting any of the following data technologies: relational databases, big data platforms, data lakes, data bricks, data analytics, data integration/transformation tools, machine learning/AI.

• Strong technical experience in Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake , Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Azure ML. 

• Have the ability and passion necessary to maintain technical excellence with emerging technologies, including competitive technologies, while continuing to manage customer opportunities.

• Azure Data/Architecture certification (a plus).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think creatively.

• Able to work as a team member and willing to work independently when required.

• Strong organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Be a self-starter who takes ownership of opportunities; works independently, manages multiple simultaneous projects, and deals well with ambiguity and last-minute changes.
